Sign this petition to help end Christianophobia in Europe
We need your support to compel the European Commission to act against this scourge

FAQ
Because there is currently no European mechanism dedicated to combating hostile acts against Christians, even though such acts are on the rise in many European countries.
Every year, hundreds of assaults, vandalism of churches, desecrations, and discriminatory acts are reported. According to the OIDAC, 2,444 anti-Christian acts were documented in 2023, representing a 44% increase. Despite these figures, European institutions remain largely silent.
The European Union has already created coordinator positions to combat anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, in order to better document incidents, support victims, and coordinate political responses.
Nothing equivalent exists for Christianophobia, even though it represents the most common form of religious intolerance in Europe.
The European coordinator would be an official appointed by the European Union, responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and combating acts of Christianophobia across all member states. His role would be both operational, political, and symbolic..
Specifically, his mission would consist of :
- Catalog and document acts of hate, vandalism, aggression, or discrimination targeting Christians or their places of worship.
- Work with member states to improve data collection, strengthen prevention, and support victims.
- Propose actions and recommendations to the European Commission to better protect Christians.
- Coordinate best practices among European countries (church security, monitoring of assaults, training of law enforcement, etc.).
- Raise awareness among European institutions about the reality of the attacks suffered by Christians and the need to respond to them.
- Ensure political visibility for a phenomenon that is largely ignored or minimized today.
This petition is supported by three Members of the European Parliament from the European Conservatives and Reformists group (ECR), all committed to defending the Christian roots of Europe and religious freedom.
- Laurence Trochu (France): former philosophy teacher and local elected official, became a Member of the European Parliament in 2024. A figure of French conservatism, she has long been committed to the defense of family, life, and European civilization. Noticing the surge in anti-Christian acts and the lack of a dedicated coordinator at the European level, she launched the petition that initiated this initiative in 2024.
- Paolo Inselvini (Italy): the youngest Italian MEP elected in 2024, a lawyer and a leader in the youth movement of Fratelli d’Italia. He actively works to protect the Christian roots of Europe and to combat Christianophobia, convinced that the European Union must clearly defend Christian communities.
- Stephen Nikola Bartulica (Croatia): an experienced academic and politician, former national deputy and foreign policy advisor, elected to the European Parliament in 2024. Chair of the ECR working group on freedom of expression, he carries an international commitment to Christian values and the protection of fundamental freedoms.
- Jadwiga Wiśniewska (Poland) : Member of the European Parliament for Poland, representing the Law and Justice party within the European Conservatives and Reformists group (ECR). She is currently serving her third term in the European Parliament, a position she has held continuously since 2014.
- Bert-Jan Ruissen (Netherlands) : elected in 2019 as a Member of the European Parliament for the Netherlands. He is part of the oldest political party in the Netherlands, the Staatkundig Gereformeerde Partij (Dutch Reformed Party). A party firmly rooted in Christian values.
Together, these three elected officials are joining their efforts to have Christianophobia recognized as a major reality in Europe and to obtain the creation of a European coordinator tasked with combating it.

The text of the petition
Christianophobia is exploding in Europe: In 2023, 2,444 acts of Christianophobia were documented in 35 European countries, according to the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians in Europe (OIDAC). These acts of hatred against Christians increased by 44% in a single year. Reports continue to multiply, revealing a worrying climate of growing hostility toward Christians. All these attacks, acts of vandalism, and assaults target churches and believers because of their faith. In France, more than 1,000 offenses against Christian sites are recorded every year. European civilization, shaped by fifteen centuries of Christianity, is inseparable from it.
Assailed from the outside by rampant Islamization, but especially from within by constant denigration and a guilty self-hatred, Christianity is attacked and disparaged in the cradle that propelled it to the status of civilization.
EAnd yet, public authorities remain silent, ignore alarming reports, and refuse to act. A telling symptom of this preference for the other, the European Union has created positions for coordinators to combat Islamophobia and anti-Semitism. For Christianophobia, nothing more than a barely concealed indifference.
In the face of this serious situation, denied by the media as well as by our institutions, we, elected members of the ECR group, refuse to remain silent. Through the petition demanding the creation of a coordinator position against Christianophobia, we convey a strong and clear message. That of a civilization that first takes responsibility for itself, but also defends itself.
Our mission is twofold: to inform and to act. We must shed light on our struggle, show the reality of the attacks suffered by Christians within the European Union, and demand that it implement concrete measures to prevent them, as well as to punish them.
Without truth, there will be no justice. Without pride, there will be no common conscience. Without cultural unity, there will be no possible defense. Without protection, there will be no more European and Christian civilization..
Let us demand that Europe defend religious freedom and protect those whose religion is the most attacked in Europe, when it should be the best defended there: Christians.
